What is an App Password?
An app password is a unique 16-digit code that allows applications (like 1C) to access your Google account if they don't support two-factor authentication.

Setup Steps

1. Enable 2-Step Verification in Google

  • Go to your Google Account security settings

  • Enable 2-Step Verification

2. Generate an App Password

  • Navigate to App Passwords section

  • Choose Other (custom name), enter "1C", and click Generate

  • Copy the generated 16-digit code

3. Configure Email Sending in 1C

  • Open Administration → Mail

  • Create or edit a mail account

  • Enter the following:

    • SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com

    • Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)

    • Username: your Gmail address

    • Password: the generated app password

  • Click Test connection

  • Save the settings

Testing

Send a test email — if set up correctly, it will be delivered.

Important

  • Do not use your main Google password

  • Gmail imposes a daily sending limit — avoid bulk emails

  • After copying the 16-digit password — remove the spaces!
